Guandan

How to Play

Guandan is played by 4 players in two partnerships (you sit across from your partner) with two full decks (108 cards). Each player is dealt 27 cards. On your turn, play a higher combination of the same shape, or a bomb, or pass. Combinations: single, pair, triple, full house (三带二), straight (5 cards), tube (3 consecutive pairs), plate (2 consecutive triples), bombs (4+ of a kind), straight flush, and the joker bomb (4 jokers). The current level card (级牌) ranks just below the jokers, and the heart-suit level card is a wild card that can stand in for any non-joker card. The first player to empty their hand is 头游; the deal ends when 3 players are out. Your team levels up based on how your partnership finished (both out first = +3). Reach and win at A to win the match. Between deals the losing side pays tribute (进贡) — their highest card — and gets a small card back.

Controls

Tap cards to select them, then press Play — it is enabled only when your selection is a legal move. Press Pass when you can't or don't want to beat the table. Use Hint to auto-pick a legal play. In single-player you play with three AI partners/opponents; in multiplayer, create or join a room and empty seats are filled with AI. Tribute between deals is handled automatically.

Tips & Strategy

Save bombs for crucial moments — they beat any regular combination and can rescue a losing deal. Cooperate with your partner: if your partner already holds the table, let them win the trick. Keep your wild cards (red level cards) for completing bombs or straight flushes. Try to go out first (头游) to maximise your level gain.
